I have always had a problem with SVCDs made by TMPGEnc and played on my DV444. I always had to change the output mode on the DVD platyer to 16:9 (for my 4:3 TV) to get the right aspect ration.
On the weekend, I made a new SVCD with TMPGEnc version 2.54a, and on playing was very surprised to found that I didn't need to change the settings (after having them set correctly for playing DVD's ie to 4:3).
I suspect that this is somethng that has changed in the version of TMPGEnc, but I can't be sure, because I used a new template at the same time. Can anyone else (who previously had the problem..and I have seen it discussed in other posts over the months) confirm this???
