  1. Hello, on one of the paid tv sites I can set up for recording particular movies, tv shows etc. They are recorded and can be downloaded without any issues (no drm) - however they are also recorded with subtitles and each frame for these subtitles is in png format. Is it possible to rip somehow?

Do you mean the subtitles are hardcoded?

  3. No, hardcoded would mean that they are "inside" the video, however they can be turned off. Each line when I watch this directly I see that is downloaded one by one as separate png image.

You can get the text from the subtitles by converting the image files to pdf. Then upload to Googles Drive and open the file using Google Docs to OCR it. Then paste the OCRed result into Notepad and clean it up.
The problem is you don't know the timestamp for each image.

I am attaching the pdf file that I created so that you can test it for yourself.
The text after cleaning is: (Same text different size)

-Išiel som s ňou von, rozumieš
    -A potom?

  5. I do not have issue with OCRing it, but with automatic download all such *.pngs from the whole movie with timestamps... that's the real issue here...

You can try following this tutorial but it can take you a lot of time.

Alternatively use Whisper AI to transcribe the audio which is a fast and automating method.
