  1. I have just purchased via Ebay a Panasonic DMR--EZ47V combo VHS/DVD unit recorder/player.

I would like to chronologically burn a DVD from several short (15 minutes each) VHS tapes. Is is possible to start the process of recording to the blank DVD and then pause to eject the first VHS tape and start the 2nd, 3rd etc VHS tape until the DVD is full? Are double layer DVD practical? Can they play in most home DVD players? I know this information is found on this forum but I just need a little help getting started.

When I get them all converted to DVD format I may want to do more editing via my computer, but just not at this time.

    Thanks!

If the unit still works.....remember that the the fewer amount of minutes you record to a blank DVD...the better quality the video. Usually 1 hour is the best you can get.

  3. I understand. A 1 year SquareTrade Warranty was offered by Ebay so I accepted it in case something does not work on the unit I can get reimbursed.

My main question is whether it's possible to record from the VHS side to the DVD side in the combo unit but pause the recording on the DVD to insert another VHS tape? I am trying to consolidate VHS tapes to DVD.

I will also download the manual and see if there is instruction on this AND appreciate any comments!

Pausing instead of stopping has often resulted in audio sync errors in the final product. I avoided pausing whenever I could.
