    I hope i'm posting in the right forum, if I'm not then mods please move this. Ok, I have movie files in AVI format, when I try to convert them to mpeg with TMPGEnc, it gives me an error message such as: Media type unsupported. What other good apps is there to convert AVI to MPEG?

    Best bet would be to frame serve the AVI with VirtualDub.

    This is simple, I had it happen to me when I tried to use TMPGEnc & got the same message. You don't have the right Codec to make this work. Just download the Nimo Codec Pack, it's a free download from this site (Go to Tools on the left of this screen).
    Just download the Nimo Codec Pack & your TMPGEnc will no longer give you the "Cannot Open, Not Supported" garbage.
