Can anybody identify this cable for me?
It looks to be a camcorder video output cable - but I'm looking for a more specific identification.
The connector is more or less rectangular with 8 lines/lanes and an off-center notch.
The other end is the usual composite AV and s-video.

it has probably CVBS (yellow), Audio L+R (white+red) and RF coax (black) - device using this cable must be able to produce RF signal and CVBS with Audio - some game console? rather old one...

yep, agree, probably S-Video, overlooked this dent - wire it look so thick, almost like RG-59...Last edited by pandy; 19th Dec 2021 at 06:48. Reason: S-Video not RF PAL connector

The black connector looks like s-video to me. Note the little dent in the side.

Mini Display port is digital only, the picture shows only analog connectors at the other end, so no Mini Display Connector.
This is probably s proprietary camera connector. -
It's a proprietary connector of a camera or older cell phone to connect it to a TV.

camera or game console cable.

Thanks for the replies.
I did specify in the original post that it was s-video so I'm unsure why that became a topic of discussion. Sorry if the picture didn't show that clearly enough.
I already believed it to be a proprietary cable from a camcorder but I was hoping somebody here might recognise it and be able to give a more specific identification. Such as which camcorder or series of camcorders it was from. -
All camcorders I have ever seen use AV connectors that look like headphone jacks.
This kind of USB-lookalike I have only ever seen in cameras. -

Must ask. Why ?
Now if you had the camera/camcorder and needed a bespoke AV cable I could understand an enquiry. But here you have a cable and TBH there is fat chance of a firm ID. It's like having a lace and asking of the shoe it came from -
Not really - a lace could be used in any shoe; it's not restricted to only being used with the shoe it came from.
To answer your question, it's mostly just curiosity. I hate throwing things like this away but I wouldn't know how offer it a second life with someone who'd use it without knowing what it was intended for.
However, I now believe it is for the "accessory terminal" on a number of Nikon DSLR cameras. I can't verify it but the connector certainly looks the same.Last edited by ereiamjh; 19th Dec 2021 at 10:18. Reason: typo

Fairy nuff.
My dad's Coolpix has a usb-c type connector. The only av cables I could find tho were just composite. Nothing with s-video. -
I'm fairly sure this is what it is.

Maybe that connector but not either of those cables. The two links from there:

panasonic is my guess

Every camera manufacturer provides cables similar to this one. It's the proprietary connector that distinguishes them - and I haven't seen anything to suggest that Panasonic uses the connector that my cable has.
