I have read everything about Rempeg2 and I might have to resort to that method eventually. But when you use Rempeg2 it leaves out the menus and chapters. Is there a way to shrink a dvd exactly as you ripped it so you don't have to reauthor the menus? Can you use Tmpgenc?

  2. I've attempted to do this once, and failed. I'll try it again sometime but I found it to be quite difficult. Once you rip the whole DVD I re-encoded every VOB to about 2500 bitrate in TMPGenc not including the main movie. I then stripped the extra audio and subtitle streams from the main movie with VOBedit. I then did some math and found out how much room I have left for the main movie once I had all the newly encoded vob extras on the DVD-R. Then when I encoded the main movie in TMPGenc, I made the destination movie the maximum space/bitrate I had left over for space on the DVD. I hope this helps at least a little in guiding you in the right direction.
