Hybrid encoding a 42 minute dvd file to 34 minute

I'm re-encoding Angel season 1 episode 12 and it comes out at 34 minutes so the audio is normal but the video plays speeded up,is there any setting i'm overlooking cause i checked for any speed setting but nothing out of the ordinary.

Encoding for what format? Using DGIndex, by chance? If so, do you have it set for Forced Film when it should be Honor Pulldown Flags? In any event, it somehow got speeded up from 23.976fps to 29.97fps. Is there a log to post?

I'm sure Selur will be along to provide some expert advice.

I'm encoding it to avc1 and its being encoded to 23.976 with pulldown removed to 1440x960 upscaling.Not using DGIndex.Didn't save the log.

Then perhaps it got speeded up from 19.98fps to 23.976fps. Using Forced film followed by an IVTC followed by setting the framerate to 23.976fps will do the same thing. You're still a little vague, though, about the process you followed.

How did you remove the pulldown, if not by using DGIndex? Might Hybrid be doing something behind the scenes of which you're not aware?

I'm loading a makemkv ripped 720x480 4:3 29.97 fps with pulldown into hybrid and choose 1440x960 output,hybrid takes out the pulldown auto and sets the file to 23.976.Ive tried it a few times and file always comes out to 34 minutes,it plays speeded up and is at 23.976 fps.

Just did some more testing and found that when i removed the pulldown first with tsmuxer and then re-encoded the file that there was no issues so it seems that when hybrid removes the pulldown it encodes the 29.97 to 23,976 at the same time so that's where the speed up happens.

Would need a proper debug output of whole thing to know what happens.
Wild guess: MakeMKV changed again how they flag content or MediaInfo reports them differently,...
