Only rendering the first 10 seconds of a 20 minute clip in After Effects?

Is this possible?

It would save me a lot of time whilst I am testing different things out.

I change the In and Out points in the timeline below the video preview (top center) but it still tries to render the entire thing.

in the render settings when you add to render queue, not in the comp . If you you do it in the comp, you have to trim the work area or make a nested comp

1) add to render queue. compositon=> add to render queue

2 ) there will be some hot text besides the module labelled "render settings" , click on that.

3) click on the button "custom" . Enter your start and endpoints

Yes, go to Composition > Composition Settings > Start Time Code and set that to 0:00:00 and also set Duration to 0:00:10 and then press "OK". After Pre-render the video and you will get 10 Seconds of the video. I tried it and 2.5GB was used up just for that little 10s.
