  1. Hello everyone, My dad has a playstation...he is very angry because there is no new game coming out since playstation 2 is out. I was thinking of finding some playstation game and fit them on a cd....would they work onthe playstation or do I need an adapter? or I heard that if your dvd accepts vcd or svcd it can play them...but then do I need to download those games as an mpeg file?

Please help...I also have no clue of where i could find those game. I looked for metal gear(playstation game and got it downloaded as a software...would it work on my dvd player???) but even that one which i have the original somewhere at home was missing many parts on it...it was only 70mb long but the guy was telling us it was the entier game! Any help on where to find them and how to make them work would be good...Also can we copy playstation2 game so it works on playstation1 or a dvd player?

There are so many web sites dealing with this all you need to do is a simple web search.

psx (psone) games can be copied and played back on a psx or on a PS2 but only if they are modified to boot backups. There are hardware plugins that can be used on the psx or you can install a modchip. As far as I know you must have a modchip to boot backups on your PS2, there are still no hardware adapters.

There also exist software emulators for the psx which allow you to play psx games on your PC but NOT for PS2 games. I'm sure there are some in development for PS2 but nothing that is stable yet.

PS2 games can be copied and played back on a modded PS2 console only.

Just use a little common sense here. If psx or PS2 games could be played on a dvd player then there would be no reason to buy a psx or PS2. Also if PS2 games could be played on a psx then there would be no reason to buy a PS2.

Yes you can download psx and PS2 games but they typically fill an entire cdr, meaning that they are going to be at least 650MB's and typically upto 800MB's. Some games are very small, even under 100mb's but that is very rare.

Just do a web search and search for, psx ps2 modchip etc... you will be suprised how easy it is to find the information you want when you look in the right places.
