Premiere 6 sound skip problem

I am working with Premiere 6 and am having the hardest time trying to figure out how to get the sound to stop skipping. My computer has more than adequate specs, but the sound keeps skipping like a bad record at clip breaks and even sometimes in the middle of the clip. What can I do? Thanks for your help!

birthouse, I've had the same problem. A skipping and or clipping type sound at every clip or transition!? What I did was stop using mp3's for my music sound track.

I only use wav files now and have not had the problem since. You never said, per se' that you are using mp3's but if you are convert to wav and see if that doesn't stop the problem.

Let me add that my problem occurred with Ulead's VideoStudio not Premiere, but I don't think this is a VideoStudio or Premiere problem, just something with using mp3's for the music track.
