  1. I currently have a Samsung DVD player...

It SAYS it support VCDs but after much grief, its a big hit or miss (mainly misses).

Okay...so I want to buy a NEW DVD Player and want to spend around $200.

I want all the normal audio/video outputs, but what I really want is one that plays DVDs, VCDs, SVCDs, etc.. No problems, no worries.

Anybody have one that they've played all sorts of discs in and never had any problems?!

  4. My RCA RC5240 plays everything including mp3 and audio CD's. Get it at Wally World for $149.57 + tax. Read Play reviews. One great machine.

The APEX 1500 is great...it plays DVD,CD, CDR, CDRW, VCD, SVCD, MP3.
Think they just came out with the new version which plays above plus HDCD and WMP... they were under 120.00 at Walmart or Curcuit City and one of those included a free DVD......

My Pioneer ( 535 ) is fantastic and you would be safe with the newer models listed above - but my only gripe with my pioneer is the crappy fast forward rewind - it only has one speed and requires some thought (!) to use properly - my other players (Toshiba and Palsonic) have brain-dead fast forward multi-speed single button action much easier, I don't know why Pioneer made such a great player and used a really crap remote control.

  9. I would say Deawoo dvd-5800 plays everything, dvds cds, vcd, svcd, mp3, all region dvds, macrovision free and could also play on pal tvs and its only $94 at sams club u can get extra warranty for $5 i just bought 8 of them so I could sand it to my friends in europe, cause dvds are very expensive out there and also so i dont have to record vhs tapes to pal, its just not worht it, I mean for that price u cant go wrong, the only problem I have notice it doesnt like xvcd over cbr 1800 kbts .
