  1. i used to click and highlight a web address like this "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=870y6GUKbwc&nohtml5=Fa" and drag it and drop it on the windows desktop screen or directly on a batch file to download things.

but now since maybe 1.5 ~ 2 years ago, it doesnt even let me drag and drop a web address at all.

this is not good, what am i doing wrong?

    possible scenerios
    1. they changed the rule, so there is nothing we can do.
    2. i accidently and unknowingly changed the settings from all my computers simultaneously. if this was the case, what must i do to go back?

this link said something about UAC,

i never and ever used UAC enabled during my entire windows 8 and 10 operation (i would rather die). drag and drop had always been working fine but then a couple of years ago, i updated and win 8 and 10 at the same time (my auto-win-update was TRULY set to" no" last time with the help of Winaero, because setting "no" never worked with control panel and old Winaeros before.

I did set UAC to "enabled" this time and "drag and drop" worked and win OS did not ask this stupid question either "do you really want to run this software?" for everything i did, even if everything was set for "run as admin". this trash UAC never correctly worked before. but i just discovered even after UAC was enabled, it's NOT asking "do you really want to run this software" for eveything i did.

i dont know what to say at this point...

  4. the batch file that worked with win8 and old win10 didnt work with new win10, i can work on this alone later.

win 8's UAC problems didnt appear.
but win10's UAC problems still appear just about everywhere. i will forget about this drag and drop on win10. it is not worth it.
