I've been doing VHS captures on and off over the last 15 years with random on hand and cheap equipment, but now I'm trying to get a setup to do it right.
My capture computer specs are in my profile and to go along with that I have a Panasonic AG-1980 and a Panasonic DMR-ES10.
I am currently using the 1980 with it's TBC off and SHARP level maxed, then running through the ES10 to a Dazzle DVC100.
I am running NCH Debut to capture with the x264vfw codec selecting keep color space info and single pass lossless avi.
Now I know the DVC100 is probably far from optimal, it's just what I had on hand.
So what should i get to replace the DVC100 and PLEASE suggest anything else that you feel would improve my situation.
Thank you!
Troy

I have good luck with the Motu HD Express pci/e capture device. I do a lot of laserdisc captures so having both analog & digital audio options is a must. Plus it has composite, s-video, component, and hdmi video inputs. Problem is it's not Win 10 compatible. And you need Adobe to capture with, but you may be able to capture using VirtualDub.
For the 3D comb filter I use the Sony MBT XBT 900. It's a reasonably new discovery over at Laserdisc Forever. I know folks at LDDB like the ES10. I'm not sure which unit is better.
I capture YUV 8-bit uncompressed AVI.
I assume you'll want to use some sort of de-noiser plug-in. My laserdiscs are super noisy. And depending on the source should either IVTC (for film) or deinterlace using QTGMC (for video). -
If you have an available PCIe x1 slot, I recommend the Osprey 260e for legacy video. The drivers and GUI are very well though-out and reflect a deep understanding of analog video.

Yes it does, although I don't use it since I do archival conversions.
