I wish to use an existing 1080 computer monitor inside a fireplace (usb mp4 fire log video) as a stand-alone unit (no computer attached).
Are there simple media players that can accomplish this?

	Thanks for the instant reply.
So these will play directly to a monitor instead of a tv?

As long as the player and your monitor support the same connectors (DP, HDMI, DVI, VGA, component video, etc.) and video properties. 1080p60 over HDMI is almost universally supported.

I've tried that and it works as long as they support the same video format
