Dear all,
I've a question on the practice of resolutions. The problem I faced was that viewing my svcd mpeg file from the PC was different from with the TV after i burnt it onto a CD by nero -- in TV, there were cut-off portions on top, bottom, left and right of my video--a smaller frame size basically.
Is it TV dependant on how a TV view software in any format or they have a standard?
Finally and most importantly, how to solve this? I really can't stand the output as it has killed my artistic expressions and even some people's faces were cut off!
I appreciate your help and thanks in advance!
Sincerely,
Kai

You will notice that some of the image is not visible on your screen. The area that is missing is approximately one half inch around the edge of the full television screen. This is the result of a 1930's television technology called 'overscan'. Overscan has the affect of forming the TV image off the edge of the visible screen. Literally, the TV scan is continued past the viewable edge of the screen so that you can not see the edge of the image on the screen as you do on your computer monitor.
Part of fitting the computer image onto a TV comes from the fact that your monitor is rectangular while a TV is square. Aitech handles this issue with a square pixel that is sent to the TV. -

I will try this out when I get home but I don't really understand how it works. I mean, it sounds more sense to me if there's a "black border length" parameters for me to key in!
And I need to burn it to a CD to do every test? Is there other ways to do so?
