No one knows how to do the snapshot of video ???
I thought this was a easy one. someone out there must have done this a lot. come on, help me out please. -
Assuming windows, this is an easy one:
run your video in whatever player you want, resize it the way you want it to look.
Make sure the player is the active window on your desktop.
Hold ALT and press the PRT SCRN or Print Screen key on the top row to the right of the F12 function key. This saves the active window. (control + Printscreen will capture the entire desktop.)
You have now saved the active window, and you can paste this into any image document or application you want, for example open Wordpad, Word , Paint, etc. I believe that it is a bitmap while it is being pasted in this manner.
Paste in any manner or click in the blank document and press Control + letter V and this will paste. You NOW can probably do a 'save-as JPG as it is more useful if your image application allows it, and most will.

Thanks for your input.
but i tried the way you described on asf in windows media player. if i shift+print then stop the video. after i paste it into photoshop, the captured video screen is just a blank image.
if i leave the video rolling, paste whatever i captured into photoshop, the scene is not a static image but a real playing screen.
i tried other combo key with "ctrl +print" etc.. no luck
what my did wrong ?
P.S i have no problem catpute rm using this way tho.Just Another User -
I am replying myself again =)
I found the solution from google or better deja. god , i love it. here is the solution in case someone need it.
disable the hardware acceleration in
WMP, play the clip, seek to the frame you want to grab,
pause WMP, capture the screen using the PrtScr key or any
screen capture utility, then save the capture. -
Glad you fixed the problem.
"Some" ASF streams are different than others, as far as pausing them, it has seemed to me; however you are capturing what is actually on the screen, as a bitmap.
Maybe photoshop didn't like it, don't know why, but one can paste it into wordpad, and save that as a jpeg, open the jpeg with photoshop.
Search for the program HYPERCAM and have some real fun capturing streaming film programs.
thank you for responding to the thread.
