    Hi All,
I have a Belkin usb video capture device (F5u228). I also have two PC's On one PC (vista) all is working fine. On the second pc ( xp) When I select the video settings in various programs to select the capture device, the usual dialog pops up where I can select the Pal/ntsC , resolution, Etc but the Input Type field has no entries in it. This would normally have 2 settings: Composite and S-video. But on my XP pc, this dropdown is empty so I cannot select an input type.
The Same USB capture device and camera works fine when plugged into the other PC. The problem is that I need it working on the xp machine as it is in the observatory hooked up to the telescope.
BTW I have an Esycap USB device and the settings for that seem to work fine. But the Belkin which is required for some software I am running does not work... aargh!!!
I have uninstalled and reinstallled the drivers, checked for upgrades, Even Did a system restore and started again but no go on this PC.

Has anyone got any ideas or suggestions? Is there some file hidden somewhere that I can edit or delete or a setting in the registry?

    Thanks
    BillD

    Hi,
    Thanks for your response.
Yes I did try the new drivers.
In the end I decided to bite the bullet and went out and bought vista and rebuilt the PC from scratch (all the the things I needed it for work fine on my vista pc's but not on the xp one)
Anyway after rebuilding and reinstalling the drivers, it worked first up but is now now showing another problem that I have not had time to get back to.
Now when I attach the camera and start the capture program, the properties are working correctly but it does not always show the video, I have to toggle between NTSC and PAL and change res and it randomly works.
Its quite funny, the PC in my house has sooo many things installed and they all work perfectly in there. But in the lab where I have only what I need, its not working... hehe. Anyway I will uninstall the drivers and try again some time later
