Hi, I am new here, but I have a question, I have a video I downloaded that is a .RAM format, I can NOT find anything that will allow me to convert this to another format to make a copy. The strange part is that where I downloaded this Video allows me to make copies, but I guess I am dumb, because I can't figure out how to burn it as a VCD to play on my DVD.
Any Help in the right direction will greatly be appreciated!
Thanks

did you check out the convert section of the site?
If yes and it didn't work did it give you a message or did you onvert and it doesn't work on your player?
can't help you if we don't know what part of it didn't work... -
I tried different converters, the same message came up telling me that the file format is not compatible with this program. This is happening with about 5 different converters. Thanks again for the input. I am learning as I go.

normally a .ram file is not a video file, but just a link to the real file. how large is your ram file? try opening it in notepad and look inside, you'll probably find some addesses inside of it.

Thanks, and You are right they are just a link to RP. Now my question is when I play them, are they saved on my HD as a .R or some other format? And where would I find these, as You can tell I am very new to this part of the computer world. Give me tech questions or something of that nature and I am fine, but audio and video are all new.
Thanks for your help! -
in theory yes you may find it as a saved .rm file. If not find, streambox vcr. you can usually download the files that way...

open the .ram file with notepad, and you will see it's linked to a .rm or .ra file. Copy the link and paste it on ur browser and download the .rm file

Thanks, I am following each suggestion to the letter, but I am back now to my original question, After I download the .rm or .ra file, what program do I use to convert it so that I can Burn it?

theres this program i used, it was called TINRA (this is not real anymore), and it converts real player movies to avi. But when I tried it the movie was really out of sync. So theres something called Stable.exe that works with TINRA to make it in sync. After you convert it to .avi, you can now convert it with tmpg

use eo video
http://www.eo-video.com
if you are not satisfied with the quality of its mpeg-1 conversion, render to uncompressed avi, then feed that into tmpgenc or whatever your favorite mpeg encoder is
