Folks,
At this point I'll try anything. I currently have a Sony TRV17 and would like to dump clips and make a VCD or DVD. The problem is when I capture video using either Premiere 6.02 or Ulead Video Studio the captured video looks terrible (jagged edge..not an interlace problem...around moving people). I get no dropped frames. I even went out and bought another firewire card for another machine (XP) and still get the same results. In premeire I capture NTSC DV at 32KHz. Can anyone recommend something to try?

When you capture video from a DV camera to Premeire 6.02 does Premeire do any kind of compression? I am under the impression that the compression does not take place until you render/export the timeline. Looking at old post on the above problem it seems the firewire just dumps the video (AVI). (Does a transfer not a capture from the camera).
I would like to try a different piece of software, can someone recommend another capture program that supports firewire and a DV camera?
