    I have sv13, and sv14,

Anyways, I use a lot of television and movie episodes and scenes. Mkv, I know isn't accepted. But mp4 and avi are my bigger problems. The way I edit involves selecting an audio music file, and inserting it at the start of the project. Then I insert my video files. But whenever I input any .avi file, it messes up the audio. It sounds like the system makes a second invisible layer that's nothing but a nonstop loop of whatever the first inserted audio track is, smashed together with the actual audio. It's terrible. Every single .avi file does this, and I need help to fix it. It'll be about five seconds of the otheraudio, and then maybe two seconds of what it's supposed to be on repeat.

This is an example of my issue. My basic audio is the one at the front, and the avi file at the end. You can see that the audio from the avi is a replica of the audio at the beginning but looped for some reason. http://imgur.com/a/sWobh

I have to convert the .avi file to mp3 anytime I'd like to use the audio clip, and it takes up a lot of time and space. I don't know what I did to cause this issue, but it's a real pain.

  2. What type of audio is in the AVI ?

Does the basic audio clip work normally alone (eg. temporary remove the AVI)

Does the AVI work alone ? (e.g. temporarily remove the audio clip)

But mp4 and avi are my bigger problems.
What is "wrong" with "mp4" ? You only describes the situation with AVI

    Mkv, I know isn't accepted
There are workarounds for importing MKV, depending on the type of video and audio used in the MKV. It might be as simple as re-wrapping into a MP4 container (very fast, no quality loss)

My mistake. Half of the mkv files I convert to mp4 show in Vegas, and half don't, but I have no clue why, or how to differentiate, so I don't waste data, downloading again.
