    Hi,

When i open some footage on mpg streamclip and play it, its choppy and the screen gets "displaced" inside the video itself, lets say im playing a video, so it starts, and for some reason, the first frame freezes and another "screen" appears on top of that frame but smaller and displaced to the right/bottom. If i play the video on fullscreen it plays perfectly, not choppy and no displacement occurs. If i move the player in windowed mode, no displacement occurs but its equally choppy.

my impression is that this is a memory related problem, it has to spend too many resources while playing windowed.

    Can i fix this somehow?

    Thank you.

Use it as a tool (cut, demux, convert), not as a player. And consider alternatives, as it is dated (2012!).
While I can’t replicate your issue, I find that MPEG Streamclip starts to struggle a bit, where other players don’t, even at 1080p.

    Thanks for your response.

I use it to edit, to cut stuff etc. the problem is that with that "glitch" and the choppy playback is hard to operate properly, if you know what i mean.

Could you recommend the best free alternative to streamclip?

    Thanks a lot.
