  1. Hi
I have a Full DVD on my hard drive with menu etc....plays perfectly, but when I burn to a DVD episode 2 skips the video after the first few seconds and the screen goes black for 5-10 seconds during the skipped video....

I assume the majority of season 2 is within Vob2, but I originally thought that each numbered vob file was a complete episode , but n
Been told this is not the case....

I have try fixvts....and encoded to mpeg and mkv, then recoded back to VOB....but that was completely unsuccessful....

Wonder if anyone has any ideas.....maybe on the PC VLC media player, auto corrects, whereas the DVD player doesn't..

    Thanks

VLC does fairly well in recovering from errors, while some set top player may not know what to display for certain errors, so that is a possibility. The fact that something plays in VLC says very little about standard compliancy of the files.
Is the DVD on your hard drive a copy of a professionally mastered DVD (i.e. commercial), or did you encode it? With what encoder? Is it processed/altered in any way?
DVD bitrate can be a possible problem to some set top players, although I would expect modern sets to have a generous margin of acceptance. You can check it with e.g. Bitrate Viewer.

  3. It's a HDD copy of an original commercial DVD.....

The 5-10 second black blank is not a big issue, just something I would like to,learn how to fix, really thought fixvts, would do it

Not processed or altered at all

    Thanks
