  1. I know MP4 is a vbr format. What about AVI? Just a general answer from experts. Thanks.

  5. It is impossible to create pure CBR without adding so called stuffing and even MPEG-TS where stuffing exist is always CBR within +-1 188byte packet (from single bit/byte perspective even MPEG-TS is VBR).

    a while ago it had a problem with mp3 audio going out if sync if it was vbr, but that for the most part is fixed.
    if all else fails read the manual
