  1. I have no idea what I did to have this occur.

I was attempting to save an image, which I did. I must of hit the wrong key the first time, because now, whenever I attempt to open a video, the screen is completely black. Sound is normal. Is there a hotkey on the program that causes this? I'm very worried.

  2. There are hotkeys to disable the menu but not make a black screen as far as I know. (press "3" and/or "ctrl"+ various numbers)

I'd just reset the settings. Delete mpc-hc.ini file (if it exists) and the registry keys:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MPC-HC
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MPC-HC64
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Gabest (for old versions)

  3. It's still coming up.

It even transferred over to the Black Edition version I downloaded. When I first went into RegEdit though. It was currently on the "FullScreen AutoChangeMode" key. So maybe I thought I accidently did something there.

What is "it"? I don't understand what you are saying. Did you or did you not delete all mentioned registry keys and the .ini file?

If it is a graphical glitch that affects multiple applications it might be a problem with the GPU driver or Windows. Try re-installing, updating (or even downgrading) the GPU driver. Set Windows' zoom to 100%.

Can you make a screenshot? I'm not sure I understand you correctly. Is this only in fullscreen or also in windowed mode? Are any controls still shown or is everything black?

  5. I discovered the problem.

FFDSHOW. I disabled it and the screen came back.

Now I just have to figure out what hotkey of theirs does that.
