Posted this on newbie forum, thought it might be better here. Using VirtualDub to append together many small avi files into one. When I convert, I get warnings and the process goes into "FFmpeg safe mode". This still works but I didn't see it with AVStoDVD conversions before using VirtualDub. Is this ok or am I simply missing something (LAV filters, codecs)??or wrong setting in AVStoDVD? Attached a log. Thanks.

It might have been better to post this in the avstodvd support thread.

But why not simply import the individual files into avstodvd and avoid the issue since the issue appears to be related to the join(append) rather than avstodvd itself.

Trying to make a smoother looking video, DVD. The files are pauses and starts form the camcorder and some are only a few seconds. Not really a huge issue, just trying append like dated / subject matter files together.

    Ok.

Well if the final dvd is ok >> There is sound where there should be etc. and all is in sync then no harm appears to occur. Avstodvd seems to complain that there is no sound in the appended files.

I have now spotted your other topic about this.

Very bad form to start a new topic when the other one has the same question.

Took your advice DB83. Why mess with something that is working. I'll try and delete other question.
    Thanks. Joe.
