  1. I came on here about a week ago or so asking about ways to convert movie files to the video_ts files so I can make a dvd out of them, and dvd styler and avstodvd were recommended. I tried avstodvd and it does a good job but there's a small problem. the backgrounds for the home screen of the dvd are limited. as a matter of fact I think there's only one and it looks gray colored. is there a way to get more backgrounds? or do you think dvd styler is the only way to do that?

Yes there are ways to use other backgrounds for AVStoDVD menus.

You can create a custom template. Open AVStoDVD Help. Find the page for "DVD Menu Wizard - Template" in the Index tab. it explains how to create a custom template.

You can also replace the default background in the Menu Editor. Open the editor and select Mode->Edit. Select Background from the DVD Menu Items list, then choose the background you want to substitute via the Item Graphic Properties->Image.
