Came across a Youtube video of a guy cleaning his old VCR, in particular cleaning his VCR head. Just in time for Halloween, sensitive viewers look away.

I left an informative comment to correct some of the bad guesses this guy made. I was tempted to write, "Scotch-Brite pads are best for cleaning the drum!" but I'll save that for Halloween.

Most of those artifacts were caused by that shitty cheap capture toy he's using.

I've been looking at a bunch of these vcr repair videos. The one's from 12voltvids are excellent and very resourceful. seen a few on panasonic models.

this one here is a very good one. close to my model, PV-9451, though he shows one on the PV-9450. he has lots of tare-down videos worth watching through their entirety!

There are tons of clues, tips and info that you have to pay attention to as you watch and listen to what the guys says, that's why you have to watch the whole video because all that info is spread out during the entire tare-down process, all his videos.
