Problem Streaming

Hey! So here below is an example of what happens when I stream and sometimes even watch videos on YouTube, it's always the same area. I've disabled hardware acceleration in Chrome if that matters but still no solution. And I've tried with different browsers, still no solution. It only happens when a lot of movement is going on. Do you have any ideas of what this is?



PS. Is it the Hz that's the problem or what is it called? It's unlikely that it has to do with my monitors since it happens on both of them.

Does it only happen with youtube ? or all streaming sites?

Does it happen with a standalone player like VLC Media player, MPCHC, Windows Media Player?

No it's only streaming related content. e.g Netflix, Viaplay (nordic streaming website), hbo etc. It started pretty recently so it couldn't be my internet. Have 250 mbit's down and about 100-150 up.

It looks like tearing. But I have only seen horizontal tearing.

I asked because normally tearing like that occurs horizontally, not vertically. With a monitor in portrait mode it might be the other way around. It occurs because the video player changes the frame buffer (the picture stored in memory) while it's being sent to the monitor. So the monitor gets part of one frame, part of another. If there's any motion between those two frames you get a tear. The solution is to get the player to change the frame buffer only during vertical refresh (when the graphics isn't sending the picture to the monitor). Look for vertical sync options in the player.

Tearing is a common problem with Flash player in a browser. Sometimes using a different browser will help.

If you pause the video do the tears remain? That would indicate a different problem.
