Hi could someone help me please. I have a Apex-ad-500b dvd player. It is suppose to be able to play CDR,VCD,etc. I recently got blade 2 and resident evil on VCD, they will play on my computer but not on my dvd player? Anyone know why? Some files are in .vcd and one file is in .dat, i don't know if that helps. Thanks I would appreciate feedback.

something else I have to add. In order for a vcd to work on a dvd player do the files have to be out in the open or can they be in a folder? I have 4.vcd files which are in a vcd folder and one .dat file which is in a seperate segment folder. I tried putting these all together out in the open but it wont let me, it keeps saying check disk to see if protected or to see if disk is full. I'm not sure what the hekc to do. I don't want to watch these on my computer because well it sucks watching it on my computer. I only bought these to watch on my dvd but they wont work. These are my first vcds I have ever tried, it's suppose to work but it aint. Does this help anyone?

.vcd is not a file type I have ever heard of. Did you use a real burning program like nero to make them? I use nero and they play perfect every time.
Did you say you bought them? If you paid for them, you got ripped off. They are freely available for download. Also they have to be in specific VCD format.
With nero the folder they are in is called, "AVSEQ" or something like that and the files are AVSEQ01.dat and so on.
.VCD is not a real format. -
I bought them, so most likely I porbaly did get ripped off. Here's all the information I can give you though. The disk itself is a gold color with the back being a light blue glow. It says compatc disc recordable on it then also 24x, 80 min, 700 megabytes. The files on the disc consist of...6 folders when the disk is open. The folders read as, CDDA - nothing is in it, CDI - nothing is in it, Karaoke - nothing is in it, MPEGAV - nothing is in it, SEGMENT - this contains a file called item...dat, I use this file to watch the movie on my computer. The last folder is called VCD which contains four other files. Lot.vcd, Info.vcd, PSD.vcd and entries.vcd. This is all that remains on the disc. I tried moving some files around but it wont let me, my comp reads disc may be full or write protected.
I figured I would download windvd, when I tried playing my movies on it, it keep saying I needed to lower my resolution, I did only to 640-480 and it didn't work, I even went to 256 color and event o 16 color, still it didn't work. I downloaded power dvd and it did the same thing, but said something about ddraw overlay mode. I give up, I'm confused.
