I have tried over a dozen software converters, online converters, to convert the file linked below, but they all show some kind of error or can't open it. It is from my security system that shows an animal in my yard.

I normally use Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 for editing and installed the h264 codec from sourceforge, but it can't even open this file. Any ideas?

Add it to an MKV file using MKVmerge from the mkvtoolnix package

Is it an infrared camera, as it's just black and white. Using MKVmerge works for me, as already suggested.
