  1. Hello,

Iīm using Sony Vegas and Iīm trying to edit a video a music video. What I want to do is to play from time to time the video like 3seconds backwards (like a small glitch) and then forward from that point.

If I change the Velocity Envelope on Sony Vegas with the mouse, moving it up und down I get the FX which I want, but I canīt "record" it as I play it live. I donīt know if Iīm clear enough....

All in all, the FX should make the video play backwards like 1-5 seconds, and from that position play forward again. This should happen from time to time (almost random), but a lot of times during the 7min video. Thatīs why working with the Velocity Envelope on Sony Vegas is quite slow and hard.... maybe because Iīm missing something.

Do you know from a Video Editor or how to do it easily and fast on Sony Vegas?

    Thanks!

It would be something like this something like this https://youtu.be/pUef4cWEhcY , but automatically

Have you tried right clicking the video and selecting the "reverse" option? all you need to do to simulate the video is use reverse and change the speed by holding the Ctrl key while extending the video from its edgeds.

  3. I tried it but it takes a lot of time to split and change the speed of 999 small clips.... thatīs why I wanted to do it somehow "live"

What I see in your youtube example reminds me somehow of the "Glitch effect" (without the video artefacts), which is widely used in some video productions, usually video clips indeed.

Look up for it "Glitch" key word, maybe along some words like "speed" or "velocity". I know its easily done in AfterEffects, but I'm sure in can be done in Vegas.

(Maybe a script to randomize speed/velocity envelope ?)

    Best of Luck.

Then do the audio in a real DAW like Ableton. Vegas Audio is just basics.

  6. Both Excalibur and Ulimate S contain a stutter script.

Also suggest you read this post: Making a "stuttering " effect
