    Hi guys,
Firstly I am a n00b in video editing, got videos 600mb sections of "dashcam"- driving recorder.
They are in 5 minute formats, but I need two sections of each (10- 30s) and ideally,
I need to not to have Audio on couple of them.
Tried to use few, but lost as in errors or getting just sound or else (DVDFab, FreeVideoCutter, FreePM4Cutter)
Could somebody reccomend simple, basic tool, to do so?
BTW its Win 7 x86, Intel i30 Video card- fairly old laptop, with 2gb RAM
    Many thanks!

Also, it would be good to hide number plates of few cars if possible, but in motion, they are moving about the screen, also size keep on changes...

  3. Your second post has complicated your request by orders of magnitude.

The first request can be handled by a simple avisynth script using QTInput (a separate download) for loading.

You may want to look into a low-cost but excellent NLE like Sony Movie Studio.
Before this weekendd I would have suggested quicktime Pro, but Movie Studio is only about $10 more anyway.
A free alternative is Aviutl, but it works differently than most standard NLEs.

huh, although seemed as good interface- I got utterly lost with AviUtil
Trimmed nicely (simply) using Formatoez Format Factory (although freeware is packed full with bugs), but those clips audio remains...
Is it possible to do so with some simple tool please?

  6. You may be able to do some simple appending with something like AviDemux, but getting rid of the audio selectively will be tricky. Depending on the codec and structure of your mov it may or may not load at all.

I recommended Movie Studio before because it really is one of the simpler tools for what you want to do. You don't have to know the ins and outs of every function for your project. There's a free trial.
