  1. I did not know where to post this and I'm sure there is a guide already written, so if someone could point me in the right direction I would be grateful. I have this movie I would like to watch on TV using my dvd player. It is a 3d bluray x264 mkv file. I do not have a bluray burner or bluray disk. I do have a dvd burner and dvd-r ...or rw. What do I need to convert it to dvd format split on 2 or 3 disc and still watch it in somewhat high def 720p or 1080i 3d ?

    thanks, pbr

You won't be able to convert it to dvd format in high definition. Dvd format is standard definition. You should, however, be able to convert the movie into standard definition dvd format which will play on your dvd player with AVStoDVD.

    3d ?
    Side by side
    Half side by side
    Half over under

You need a conversion program, to convert from 3d to 2d , most Lilly in mp4 format
    Then create the DVD
    Personally
I would use Bino, a 3d PC player, and connect the PC to TV, via HDMI or rgb
And watch the movie in 3d

(Tried to send this last night but VH wasn't responding...)

    0. This isn't warez, is it?
    1. Is it truly 3D as advertised?
    2. If 3D, is it MVC-encoded? SbS? O/U? Dual-stream?
    3. Regardless of whether it plays other formats beyond DVD-Video, how do you know your DVD can play ANY file in HD? (Never heard of one that could).
    4. If MVC-encoded 1080p24HD and you go to SbS SD DVD, you realize don't you that you will be throwing out 91% of your visual detail, along with adding quite a bit of artifacts (1 generation worse, less efficient codec, probably worse bitrate)?
    5. Do you have a general media player? a 3DTV even?

Use mediainfo and/or post clip to let us know what you've REALLY got.

  5. Thanks for the replies everyone. It is easy to see why there is such a wealth of information with smart people who know there stuff and like to help others. All 3 very helpful even though I did not provide enough info to start with as theewizard pointed out. Also I see your point know cornucopia ( I posted very late and very tired the other night) now that I am thinking clearer, there wouldn't be much of the original video after converting out 3d and bluray to dvd . For some reason I was stuck on burning a master piece and proudly viewing it with the family as if I contributed to the production with my vast skills of ? copy and burn ? Like I said it was late and I completely forgot I have a pc under my bigscreen LCD that I bilt some 4 yrs ago which makes all this a ...mute point. Sorry for wasting your time but thanks again for the helpand..
    thanks for this awesome forum.
