Companies like 220 Electronics sell modified region free Blue Ray players. Are these modified players also cinavia free? Also I wonder how they make them region free. Old Apex players could be made macro and DCP free altering the firmware software on the firmware chip.

I doubt it - in the USA it is law that it be included in all new players from, not certain of the date commenced. It's interesting I haven't even seen 'services' advertised in SE Asia for a chip substitution if at all possible. Personally I think it is now passé as so many people play their ripped Blu ray's off a network drive or media player so not affected.

You can email the company and ask them, As already stated all new players must have cinavia on it, I'm not so sure most people are playing their movies with network drive or media player, If they are then why is there so many posts about people asking or looking for a cure.
