  1. Need help. Used Studio 7 to make a fairly large slide show (400+pictures). Used a lot of labels using Title Deko program. Rendered to an AVI file and then used TMPGEnc to convert to MPEG2. Final product looked GREAT when I ran it on my computer monitor but after I burned it to a DVD (using Ulead Movie FActory) the picture shown when I play it on a TV cuts off the sides and some of the tops so that parts of the titles are cut off (not to mention several peoples' heads). Is there some way to adjust the final AVI file when its converted to MPEG2 so that the full picture that shows up on the computer monitor will also show up on the TV screen? The alternative would be to go back and change everything in STudio 7 before I render but after all the trouble I had to get to this point I'd like to only have to do this as a last resort. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  2. TVs cut off pixels all the way around the picture. Its callled the overscan area.

You'll have to re-do the TMPGEnc part.

Set TMPGenc to create a MPEG2 stream at 352x480. This is not official SVCD spec, but plays on every DVD player and is perfectly adequate for your slides.

Then, in the settings tell it you want "Center-Custom" and set the custom centered resolution to 320 x 416. This will reduce your slides down to a size that will not be cut off by the overscan area.

    Re-encode and enjoy!

What do you mean 352x480 plays on every DVD player? Doesn't the player have to have SVCD compatability first, or is this universal compatability you speak of some side-effect of the DVD's MPEG2 decoder and the resolution you mention?
