Hi everyone. This is my first post here. I've had a look round but can't find an answer to my problem so hoping someone can help me.

I am in a band and we try to film all of our gigs but i've got a problem with my camcorder. I have a Panasonic HC-V500. The videos are usually around 30-35 minutes long and when I connect the camera to my pc to get the video, it splits the footage into 2 files. Now, when I join the 2 files together, usually with Vegas Pro, I get a cut in the sound at the join. The picture is fine but I lose second or more of sound from the end of the first file. It's very frustrating because a friend has the same camcorder and his doesn't do it, so what a I ding wrong? Any help I can possibly get would be hugely appreciated

  2. How did you import them ?

AVCHD cameras produce filespanned clips (they are split) . When dealing with AVCHD, you need to copy the entire folder structure over if you are using the HDD - you cannot just import individual clips. There is accessory data in the folders that enables seamless joins. Your camera should also come with software that "stitches" the files together also.

You can use the device explorer in vegas to import, either directly from the camera or from the folder structure copied onto your HDD
