  1. Hello, does anyone know how a .vrd format shot by a security camera can be played? I really haven't heard of this format until now. I suppose it could be by Sony, because they have VRD camra series

    yes

I would download mediainfo and see what it says about your files, then post the text here.

  6. Often security footage is encrypted. If that's the case for you, only the device or the included software can play it

  7. Yes, I suppose it's encrypted too, btw I have a 132 bytes file, it could be the key. But I really don't know what software to use, I'm not sure about the device that shot the video... what can I do?

  8. Find out the device /model number and search the manufacturer site for software / codec /driver.

You can try VLC, which can play most things. But when mediainfo shows nothing, it usually means the file is either encrypted or damaged. The header information that is supposed to be there that enables videos to play "normally" in "regular" software isn't where it's supposed to be. So it's very unlikely that you'll be able to do anything without the other information

  9. I already tried that... but aren't they using encryption standarts like aes,des,rc4... or camera makers have their own. because if they are using standards I can try to decrypt the file with some of them
