I saw a promo for an upcoming news story about organized drone racing competitions being held(through obstacle courses)....VERY cool. I'm sure they have been going on for a while, I'm just slow....

Hopefully stuff like that will stop the knee-jerk reactions by "law enforcement" to hobby drones. You have no expectation of privacy in a public place whether it be from eye-level or from 100 feet in the air.

  3. I am not sure about a drone that just follows the user, would definately have a place in the market tho for many users, but not for me, i need something that can shoot video of everything, obviously from a remote control and preview screen.

I know 3 drone users who lost their $3000+ drones, they just didn't return to base, for whatever reasons, so one must be very careful and research these things before buying one.

These are becoming very popular with Wedding videographers, and 2 of my friends here in Australia have been using them for several months now, putting out some amazing wedding video.

That is if you can afford to have it done, because it is not cheap to do.
