    Hello,
I have searched around the forums and haven't found a situation that compares to want I want to do.
I am hoping someone can help me out.
We want to be able to record video (onto a pc) and then have it accessable via LAN (WIFI) so the video can be viewed within a few minutes. It does not have to be streamed live. We are a swim team who records the swims at major meets for our athletes. It is very beneficial for them to be able to view the race soon after the swim and discuss it with the coach. We are looking for a solution that will allow the coach and swimmer to view the race on an ipad shortly after the race. We will have (or will provde) a small local area network for our PC so the IPAD can access the video. Any ideas!?
    Thanks!

Yes, one idea is to look a little harder, as I know specifically of at least one thread here where the same setup was discussed.

What's your budget, current equipment list, level of video & computer knowledge, timeline for developing this setup, and intended drop-dead turnaround time limit in the field?

VLC make stream using feature "Delay". Try it.

delay=You can use this option to introduce a delay in the display of the stream. Delay has to be given in ms.

You can view, record and stream with delay at same time.

You should be able to just open the file you're recording before you're done recording it. I do it a lot on my HTPC: Start a show recording and wait 15 minutes or so to start watching it. It allows me to skip through the commercials.
