Hi guys, i tried to encode a Bluray with Megui and it has "m2ts" files. When i wanted to choose the main file (i assumed that the main m2ts file is the biggest one) i figured out it has no main file that would contain the whole movie. (the biggest one only contains 15 minutes of the movie) So whats the solution for this? IF someone has experience with m2ts please help. Thanks in advance

You can use bdinfo to identify the main track(playlist) from the bd bdmv folder. Then open the mpls playlist file in tsmuxer. Export to a single m2ts. Import in megui.

Or use an all-in-one solution like ripbot264 and open the first mt2s and it will identify the main track.

edit: Or check first if you can open the bdmv folder instead of m2ts files in megui.

Also useful: MakeMKV will export the main movie from a BD and remultiplex it into an MKV, which is a much more convenient container for some decoders (e.g. FFMS2 used to have problems with M2TS for a long time and supported only MKV well; this got better, recently, by removing dependencies to the Haali Media Splitter and a specific Matroska parser from FFMS2, substituting them completely with libav routines, like L-SMASH Works does for longer already).

I figured out with BDInfo which is the main file, then i exported it to m2ts with tsMuxer (tried both options "m2ts" and "Bluray folder") and finally imported in Megui, but in Megui it just stuck at 0% when i want to open in File Indexer or Script creator.

    no, only the m2ts files

Thanks i will try this too

An indexer takes some time to scan through the whole file and take notes of the positions of each frame in the video stream. This is not trivial in TransportStream files; it's a bit easier in MKV files because this container already contains support data for GOP scanning. But no matter which format: Give it some time once, at least 10 minutes, before getting afraid of "stuck" software. Once the index is complete, you won't have to wait again when opening the same source.

Yes i know i waited for more than 15 minutes and nothing happened.

But i found another way to get the files loaded in megui, i opened the main file (it was the 00200.mpls file) in MKVmergeGUI and muxed all the video, audio and subtitle tracks into a mkv, then i loaded in megui and its finally worked.

Thanks guys for help and advice, have a nice day

    Hooray.

I believe MakeMKV would have done the same, right from the Blu-ray disk.

Sometimes the files are not all in the main file. You have to find them by trial and error. For example: The Second Best Marigold Hotel had 95 % of the movie in the main file and the beginning part in a small file just underneath it. Seek and you will find. Another movie had them in 10 consecutive smaller files. Be a detective. However, spliting files is not very common, as most are all in one file. It's there way of making it a bit more difficult, as they know everyone goes for the large main file. I use VideoRedo TV Suite to join the files or Video to Video, a good freebie and go from there with TSmuxer and BD Rebuilder..

^ That's the purpose of the playlist files (*.mpls). The "main movie" will be the sequence in one of the playlists. You only need to find the playlist listing the correct sequence of segments to be played.
