Hello everyone! I'm having some troubles while re authoring some DVD's with DVDRemake pro 3.6.3 and wanted to ask you guys if you know what is going on.
Sometimes, when I'm exporting the final DVD, with the frames with subtitles added, made with DVD-lab pro 2, the program crashes. Well it doesn't crash exactly but it keep exporting beyond 100% and it never ends.
If someone knows what's going on, please give me a hand.
If you need more info or screenshots, please let me know.
Thanks for reading, and I'm looking forward to hear your opinions!

When you mention stays at 100% forever, how long are you really talking about? I ask because dvdremake runs a bit slow if you are on anything higher than windows XP. There were some memory hacks (done with a hex editor) and such but it still kind of drags especially on exporting. So are we really talking like 5 mins or something like a half hour?

Hi mazinz, thank you very much for your answer! The problem is that when it reach 100% (after 9-10 minutes) the program keeps going beyond 100%, once I've leave it running, to see what happens, and it reached 23476%, then I've stopped it. It never finish compiling. If I leave it working it may reach 3457431% and so on.

I use DVDRemake Pro for all of my DVD projects and have never run into this. I also use 3.6.3. Mine goes to 100%, then stops. I wasn't even aware it could go to 23476%! Also, I'm on Windows 7 64 bit with 16 gigs of ram, and have never experienced slow down like mazinz mentioned.
Regardless, can you provide more specific information? How big is the DVD you're trying to export with Remake Pro? -
Hi MindController, thank you very much for your answer! I use DVDRemake on Win 8, 32 bits, and 4Gb RAM and it usually works fine. This strange thing of endless compiling happened to me only 3 times, so far. Two times compling DVD's up to 7,5 GB and once compiling one of 4,20GB.
Please tell me if you need any kind of additional info, I'll gladly provide it!
Many thanks -
Interesting. I only have 8 gigs running but I noticed on export (for full or modified files) it ran slower on my Win7 64 than it did on my 32 bit Win XP. A bit of goggling found quite a few peoiple had the same thing I saw with Win 7 64. At one point they were working on a 64 bit version but obviously this never came to be. Another issue was some had export crashing (or just the program crashing) and it had to due with the pc ram and the way Windows 7 (mainly 64) behaved.
just for sake of argrument and if nicolasp21 wants to give it a try (it cant hurt) this is what it was:

00000010F6

00000000F6

Nicolasp21,
I have never come across that issue before either. Was also not aware Win 8 was available in 32 bit. Hmm did you have anything else running in the background on the computer the last times this error occurred? It could be something along the lines of the % meter (for whatever reason) moving faster than the actual export is going. Though 23476% is quite extreme.
On my end and if I was doing a full dvd export and in the dual layer range- on occasion it has taken up to 10 mins or so (if not a bit longer). So give it a try again-- let it go for 20 mins and just see if it actually finished or keeps going at that point
Also does it do this error on exporting just modified files, or a whole disc structure or both? -
Yes, Win8 exists in 32 and 64 bits. I've installed 32 bits in my PC by mistake. I should install 64 bits but I'm not able to do a backup for the moment.
I usually don't have many things running in the background, at least not enough to eat a lot of my RAM. I think its not just the problem of the meter that keeps going and going, the export itself never finishes. When I shut down the procces at any time after 100% I always have the same result, a final disc that it's not compiled. In the folder I only have the VTS files.
This problem only occurs if I've inserted the modified files on the original DVD. If I export the original DVD without any modification it works perfectly. I was thinking that maybe I've bumped into an ARccOS protected disc or something like that, could it be?
Many thanks for your answer and your help! -
I forgot what disc it was, but I ran into one issue with a type of structure protection that (at that time) was not fully implemented in the rippers (meaning it copied to your hdd but it still had some sort of protection on it). Dvdremake still opended the ripped disc but I had to virtually zap and re-do all of the menus or cell options to get the thing to play and work properly. However it still exported fine.
Did you ever get around to trying it one more time and just let it work for like 20 mins to see if it actually finishes properly?
