soompitv uses the exact same method as crunchyroll to encode the subtitles, if you are familiar with that.

Well, if there is "no way", then I must be wrong. It doesn't seem like I'm wrong....... but if there is "no way", how could I not be wrong?

  6. When using the _start_subs-only.bat Python cmd opens to ask for the url Example: http://tv.soompi.com/en/watch/22979 and it returns either cannot be found OR not available in your region. ( Frustrating) However, I can get Subs from ChruncyRoll, Viki, DramaFever but not Soompi. I have fought with it for 2 months now. Logic says there is more needed for the Url input.

So, my belief is that this tool kit is geared for Chrunchyroll only as it stands, unless an ad on script can be obtained. There is 1 person who does get the Subs from Soompi in ass format (preferable) but not all the subs are wanted.

Well, crunchy-xml-decoder is what I used. You must not have extracted the raw data from the soompi xml in proper format. It should look like this; 23979-config.xml

crunchy-xml-decoder saves as .ass, then use ffmpeg or other utility to convert to .srt
I find the .xml file in soompitv but don't know how to use the crunchy-xml-decorder, I would like to know how to use it thoroughly. Could you please help?

Well, some batch file that is customized for downloading from crunchyroll won't work for soompitv. You'll have to do it manually for soompitv (or change the batch file).

  14. Actually since Chrunchyroll is basically obsolete, it would be a Blessing for a Savvy person to revise the tool kit to Soompi. I am sure a lot of the .py can be eliminated. as my 64th B-day is here today, this has just frustrated me to no end. (must be an old age thing) LOL But i appreciate your feed back blimey

I believe blimey is referring to copy the text to note-pad then add the subtitle id <subtitle id="6411"> at the top of the page and at the footer the </subtitle>

Actually, you will see <subtitle id="6411"> at the Beginning of the actual Sub anything above that is deletable. and at end of Subs the </subtitle> and below that more garbage to delete then re name your file to what you want as you save it

Also to let you know that KOB rips most of the new Subs from Soompi for you as ass or DF files. It Just happens that Stuff I want is not released by KOB as it is older historical stuff, but go to KOB's link for the Soompi subs

  18. sorry Blimey I didn't explain thoroughly, It has been a long time since i actually used the python cmd. (i was detoured to JS) refresh my memory pls. I have the Folder on my desktop and when i open the python cmd I have the normal >>> what i seem to have forgotten is how to point the python to the folder or cd , i.e. ( cd:\ isn't the way to change the directory to the folder "crunchy_xml_decoder" on my desktop. Actually I just plain forgot. I have tried to surf the net for info on cd in python and haven't come across it yet. that is whats holding me up. I apologize for the forgetfulness. The Python cmd launch is in my start menu. getting it to the folder is at the moment problematic. Thats what old age does to you LOL

edit: this is the absolute pointer C:\Users\SuperUser\Desktop\crunchy_xml_decoder now to get the python to find it, isn't it Chdir ? or $ ( cd my/path/to/folder

    Right-click on loaded page, choose "View page source". The source will reveal a string like this;
    Code:
    http\x3A\x2F\x2Ftv.soompi.com\x2Fen\x2Fshow\x2Fmodern\x2Dfarmer\x2F22979\x2Dconfig.xml\x3Fquality\x3Dq480\x26mode\x3Dhls
The above string employs various url encoding, for example "\x3A" represents ":"

  23. That's really amazing that you know what that is, I looked for a Decoder for the x2F x3A etc but seems no one has gotten around to making one. I really appreciate you Blimey !

Just a Final Note in case someone runs into this problem: The .ass sub comes out as a malformed sub if opened in aegisub, the work around is to open the ass file with word pad and copy sub and paste in aegisubs. decode to srt is the same.(error) also it will be off by about 15 seconds. Since i can Sync subs, its not an issue. And with the work around you will need to delete the Lines at top till you have the 1st time ( when someone actually says something) Aprox 10 lines. (you don't have to, it doesn't show anything.)
Other than that it works just fine for me (unless i overlooked something in the xml) But as it stands, I am happy with it regardless of the extra time for the work around.

I assume you're using the subs paired with the video obtained from the same source on soompitv.

There doesn't seem to be any error or delay in srt if converted with ffmpeg, unless I'm missing something.

    ffmpeg -i input.ass output.srt

  25. Now I can do it. Many thankssss to blimey and Toxamation. I got .ass file now.

The Source for Soompi is for anyone and its in Korea and I get the file from Korea as well. Soompi Subs always match any of the 1.4gb files.
What is a puzzle, as i mentioned before, KOB somehow rips these subs from Soompi and strangely have "Subs from Soompi" in the sub file and perfectly Synced. As you can see here the actual timed sub from Soompi. KOB must be doing it a different way because Soompi would not just handover Subs. They have Pros that Translate it for them.
    Code:
    Secret.Door.E19.141124.HDTV.H264.720p-LIMO.ass KOB sub
The Sub that Waliporn gave from Pinochio is a good example of how the subs come using the toolkit. The sub is malformed and has to be opened with Wordpad and Copied back to Aegi Sub and edited.
    Code:
    subs.ass
and lastly the Sub I retrieved ass and srt shows timing starts at 24.00 when it should be 8,40 and garbage at top of subs. after I copied them over from Wordpad. It certainly isn't your doing but it just peaks my Curiosity how KOB is getting the Subs Labeled and timed.

    Code:
    Example Blimey.rar
Of course I don't expect you to solve the timing and malformed issue, but then again, you may see something i overlooked.

I did down load the portable ffmpeg from your link and placed in in the Toolkit folder and clicking the bat produces a cmd line box. Using it would be another issue, but after you see these subs, maybe you can see something i am not seeing. Also Aegi sub will export to a srt easily.

P.S These historical Dramas from Korea back in the 1300's to 1700's are really addictive LOL I take the 1.2-1.4 gb file and ad color border to the subs with Aegi and run both Mp4 or Mkv thru Virtual dub to a nice 576p 300-325 mb file since there is normally 20 to 30 eps @ 1 hr each ( Saves Hard drive space) then I just put on a thumb drive and Plug it in the TV, of course my neighbor lady in her upper 70's comes over to hint she would like to see them LOL

My determination comes from the fact that if KOB stops making subs available, then getting subs will really be a hardship. Also KOB doesn't make available all the subs for ones I care to have.. that in itself is a issue. Also I know that the toolkit could actually down load the video from Crunchy and i have no idea if it can be done with Soompi vids.

The srt (61255.srt) linked in the second post to this thread is the "Sub that Waliporn gave from Pinochio", and it doesn't have any delay when used with the video obtained from the very same page (http://tv.soompi.com/en/watch/23979) as the sub was obtained. 61255.srt was derived from the xml on soompi, decoded into .ass, and then converted to .srt with ffmpeg. Should it have a delay, or need to edited, as you claim? Because it works (and is in-sync) just as-is? I didn't realize that you were only using soompi for the subs and were getting the video from some other source.

I can't access any of the 1fichier.com links you've provided, they just time-out. I did confirm that Aegi Sub does report a malformed error when attempting to load the decoded .ass files. I think it might be because of Aegi Sub being picky about <CR> markers. Subtitle Edit loads the .ass file just fine. Is .ass the format that you ultimately, in the end, use the subs?

The ffmpeg command I provided is something that is run at the windows command prompt, with the parameters shown. It sounds like you just clicked on ffmpeg.exe or something.

Sorry, I'm not at all picking up where there is a problem. I see that Aegi Sub reports an error, but Subtitle Edit doesn't. I don't see where there is any delay or improper timing, there certainly isn't in the "Sub that Waliporn gave from Pinochio".
I have no idea why the links would time out, they are Hot link (no waiting) Just for you

    Code:
    Example Blimey.rar
    Secret.Door.E19.141124.HDTV.H264.720p-LIMO.ass
    subs.ass
I guess it would be self explanatory if you can get the Subs

I added attachment of the original from KOB and the 2 ass and srt that I get , note Timing from original to what I get and u already know that subs are Malformed. It may shed some light on the Subject. as I stated before, I always use Aegi subs so I can produce a color border around the text. White Subs against the Hard white subs is a distraction at times.

But....You may be on to something, if your using Sub edit and not getting time errors, then maybe "they" are not using AegiSub program. It was my assumption they were. If Sub edit can produce subs with a color edge around the text, then that would be worth exploring.

I see the difference in the starting times between the two sources. The video on soompitv has a bumper at the start for the first +/- 20 seconds. The subs on soompitv are timed to allow for that bumper.

  30. well that's interesting now that you bring it up, It allows for insertion of ads. And the Source is without additions, So Soompi adds the bumper themselves. So a premium user would not have that i assume, and that may be the case. But as I mentioned, re-syncing the Subs isn't an issue. I am just so glad you walked me thru this ordeal to be able to get the subs to begin with. I will Try Sub edit to see if I can't get rid of the error. ( Tks for that tip)

And if i ever refer to the Subs, I will Just have to say " Their blimey Subs " LOL

Thank you again for your time and patience. and Have a Happy Thanksgiving
