Can't get my DVD's to work :(

I converted a SVCD to DVD as the guide on this site said.

I did it with Spuce. My Pioneer 747A and Playstation 2 play the disc fine, but my Toshiba tells there is a disc error.

I converted the Star Wars Ep2 trailer from Quicktime to DVD and burnt with DVDit, the disc played fine on all my DVD Players.

How comes when autored with Spuce, it didn't but with DVDit it did?

I tried using DVDit for my SVCD-DVD but when its about to burn it says "GOP Structure error, could not compile to VOBU's". How do i fix this problem?

Which version of DVDit are you using and what format is your SVCD in (NTSC, NTSC film or PAL). I have had problems with DVDit PE 2.5 accepting Mpeg files but have found a workaround. If this is what you are using let me know and I will provide my solution. May not be the only way but it works for me!

I find this works, re-encode with Tmpgenc, video only. In the GOP Structure tab of the setting dialog, set Number of P pictures in GOP to 4 rather than the default 5. Also, if the source is NTSC film, do not tick the 3:2 pulldown box in the advanced tab, use pulldown.exe after Tmpgenc has finshed. Let DVDit mux the audio and video for you. This may not be a perfect solution but it works for me!

if you burnt the discs directly from Spruce then next time export a disc image from Spruce and burn it with Primo DVD...this technique tends to produce better compatibility...for more details check out www.dvd2dvdr.com
