Ive read that people love the lite on dvdrom drive because it wipes the floor with anything else for fast extracting of audio/video, but what i really want to know is, if i watch a dvd on my comp will i be annoyed by the noise?? Alot of reviews say that loading the disc makes a noise like 2 cans scraping together and that its generally quite loud.
Also, since i dont have a stand alone player, i want a drive that will provide awesome playback. Dont wanna get stuck with a drive that has trouble accessing (which i read the lite on does suffer from under certain circumstances... spins down and has trouble getting back up?)
I have to decide between a Pioneer 16X or Lite On 16X
I looked at individual reviews of both Pioneer and Lite On BUT, havent heard any direct comparisons...
Also Ive heard Sony is the quietest, but that youre pretty much stuck with the firmware that comes with the drive since they dont udate.
Thoughts would be very helpful since Im looking to buy very very soon :)
