I have a new installation of Vegas Pro 9.
Running XP Pro Sp3. Core 2 Quad, 4 gigs ram.
When I access an avi file from the explorer in Vegas as soon as I touch the file with the pointer there's a hesitation before I can move the file to the timeline - I get an hourglass and see the computer activity light churning. The length of the delay seems related to how large the file is. I've seen this consistently with files on different drives.
Once VP9 lets me move it to the timeline everything is good - behaves normally otherwise, this delay is just annoying.
Also, saved projects are slow in loading - it takes several minutes.
In my previous experience with Vegas Pro 8 I didn't experience either of these symptoms.
Anyone have insight as to how to fix this? Maybe some ini file or registry tweak?
Thanks.
