    You could try media preview. Or maybe it's just thumbnails.

    I'm not sure what all I had to do. I do have Icaros. I may have used this reg file. Haali.Matroska.Shell.Integration.reg (not sure)...

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mkvFile]
    "InfoTip"="prop:Type;{f29f85e0-4ff9-1068-ab91-08002b27b3d9}2;{64440490-4c8b-11d1-8b70-080036b11a03}2;{64440490-4c8b-11d1-8b70-080036b11a03}3;{6444048f-4c8b-11d1-8b70-080036b11a03}13;{0628D335-3AEF-4267-BD9F-CB6CD7712C99}2;Size"
    "TileInfo"="prop:{f29f85e0-4ff9-1068-ab91-08002b27b3d9}2;{6444048f-4c8b-11d1-8b70-080036b11a03}13;{0628D335-3AEF-4267-BD9F-CB6CD7712C99}2"
    "Details"="prop:Type;{f29f85e0-4ff9-1068-ab91-08002b27b3d9}2;{64440490-4c8b-11d1-8b70-080036b11a03}2;{64440490-4c8b-11d1-8b70-080036b11a03}3;{6444048f-4c8b-11d1-8b70-080036b11a03}13;{0628D335-3AEF-4267-BD9F-CB6CD7712C99}2;{0628D335-3AEF-4267-BD9F-CB6CD7712C99}1;Size"
    I am using the classic explorer in Windows 7 Professional. I have it set to "Details" and I right click on Columns and pick Frame Width, Frame Height, Video Tracks, Audio Tracks, Frame Rate etc...

    Also under Tools > Folder Options > Show popup description for folder and desktop item to view info by hovering mouse on file.

    Some of it shows up, albeit not all the detail you may need on my computer and I haven't installed any special program to do it. I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit

    I've searched forever and I can't get Windows 7 to show details for mp4. Explorer is using Icaros to show thumbnails for mp4 but not details for mp4. I've installed different shell handlers but none of them help. I've found where to go in regedit to show details but everything that is listed for files that work are listed for mp4 also. I've removed the asterisk in front of "System.Keywords;" which allows editing mp4 tags without using regedit but it gives and error for everything I try to use.

    If Icaros supported mp4 properties then it would be no problem since regedit shows ...

    Code:
    prop:*System.Media.Duration;*System.Size;*System.Video.FrameWidth;*System.Video.FrameHeight;*Icaros.VideoTracks;*Icaros.AudioTracks;*Icaros.SubtitleTracks;*Icaros.ContentCompression;*Icaros.ContainsChapters;*System.OfflineAvailability;*System.OfflineStatus;*System.DateModified;*System.DateCreated;*System.SharedWith;*System.Video.FrameRate
    ... for mkv.

    I use media preview and mediainfo. If your using media info click the button for highlighting info by hovering using your mouse. It's in preferences.

    Options>>>>preferences. On the bottom right click the button for "Explorer Tooltip (in windows explorer, move the mouse over the file, info will be displayed"
    This film is presented in it's original 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The black bars at top and bottom are normal. (it's you that isn't normal)
