  1. Hi

I have an HP PC with an internal TV tuner which on inspection is a hauppauge tv tuner 133559LF Rev B0H1

Installed Linux Mint 17 and TVheadend ok with the intention of this machine being a backend PVR to an exisiting Linux Mint/XBMC 'Frodo' Frontend in the Lounge!

tvheadend does not find the TVcard, syslog reports:
    Mar 24 09:36:32 htpc-kodi tvheadend892: v4l: /dev/video0: sdr_msi3101 Mirics MSi3101 SDR Dongle usb-0000:00:1a.0-1.1 capabilities: 0x80010000
    Mar 24 09:36:32 htpc-kodi tvheadend892: v4l: /dev/video0: Device is not a video capture device, device skipped

So it thinks is something but no a video source?! do I need an 'updated' Linux Driver for it? as its being detected I suspect Linux Mint has detected it! but I'm not sure
it does show up as a device with lsusb command and is listed as a hauppauge device but no other info:

I've hunted for hauppauge tv tuner 133559LF and Mirics MSi3101 linux drivers to no avail so far!

    Anyone have any ideas

    Thanks
    Steve

Good luck. You're going to need it. Never heard of TVheadend before so I had to look it up. It's a streaming program for DVB type TV and few others, so I'm guessing you're trying to stream TV from another source to the PC. The documentation on TVheadend is, ahem, "lacking" to put it mildly. I'm not going to spend hours looking into this for you, but your TV tuner isn't listed as being supported so I have no idea if it will work. Few of our users use Linux for video capturing and I think everybody who does uses MythTV. I hate to say it, but I doubt anyone here will be able to help you. If not, I suggest you try to get help on the TVheadend forum.

Yes. Make your life easier by finding a different PC TV tuner device with Linux drivers and TVheadend support and using that instead.

Not everything with Hauppauge's name on it has Linux drivers available. Also, since this is an HP part number, HP is likely responsible for the product's support rather than Hauppauge.
