  1. I'm following Sefy's guide to DVD ripping using DVD2AVI. All went well until I got to the part of using TMPGEnc (the latest version). It refused to open the D2V file. Is this a problem with that specific file, or does TMPGEnc no longer support D2V?

d2v files are merely produced to index where the VOB files are. If you have moved or deleted the VOB's that you used in DVD2AVI, TMPGEnc won't like this at all!

  3. I should also mention, TMPGEnc 12i didn't show D2V as a video input option (the way it seems to on Sefy's guide), and if I changed to "all files" and selected D2V, it didn't like that either. I'm assuming I select it with the buttons on the bottom of TMPGEnc?

All files (d2v, vob, wav) are in the same directory.

Did you download and install the VFAPI-plugin for TMPGEnc correctly?

Hehe. I was wondering if I might have needed that. I re-checked Sefi's guide but it didn't say anything about it. I'll give that a shot. Thanks!

Well normally people download it automatically with the main file TMPGEnc program. Let's see if this helps you

  7. I think I found the problem. It was related to VFAPI, as you suspected. I noticed it was registered in TMPGEnc, but the help menu in DVD2AVI didn't have it checked (and it wouldn't let me check it).

I had downloaded the "stable" version of DVD2AVI (1.74), which apparently didn't use VFAPI. I downloaded 1.76 (which seems to), and now the D2V file is showing up.

    Thanks for your help!
