Converting Images

Ok, now that I'm all modern with my digital camera, I have a question
about converting the pictures I take. Say I go out, and take a whole
bunch of high quality pictures (maybe like 500 Kb each). Now I want
to post them on a website, but I need to put up a (much) smaller version
for those 56k people.

QUESTION: Are there programs out there that allow you to convert
a whole bunch of pictures just by dumping them into the program?

I'm really getting tired of converting each one manually. It would be
nice to be able to do them all at once, and have it be consistent.
