I was watching my Indy Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark Dvd and noticed a flare or some kind of distortion on it in chapter 17. It's when Indy's looking for the well of the souls after he was in the map room. I must have just caught the beginning or end of the flare because its actually more visible than I thought. Here is the still:
Was this removed in the bluray edition? (it's that faint reddish/orange strip on the right quarter of the screenshot)
I recently bought the Jurassic Park blurays because I wanted the ultraviolet editions for streaming and I wanted dts on Jurassic Park 1. I haven't gotten around to getting the Indy Jones bluray set. Though I've been on such a spending spree lately I'll be cutting back quite a bit.
I thought I'd ask here and find out if this was restored and cleaned up on the bluray print. Damndest thing too that I never noticed it before.
Edit - and the thing is the Indy dvds are great prints too. I have the original release that came in the full case box set. It was not a slim case dvd box set but the full case with the bonus feature disc for a four pack total.
There was lots of grain and noise in those "special edition" dvds of the james bond dvd releases of the early movies. Like The Spy Who Loved Me and whatever. They did a great job on the dvd remaster releases and obviously the bluray prints of those. I have most of the early bond movies on bluray and all of the Daniel Craig ones on bluray.
I'm gonna post a separate thread on a blip I noticed on my Die Hard 1 bluray I just got the other day.
Edit - I'll have to do the Die Hard post another day. I thought it was when the feds were flying in the helicopter but I just watched it and didn't see the line on the left of the screen. I'll have to watch the last half hour or so again sometime to look for it.

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
I have the original pressed DVD's but I do not have the Bluray's.
Now I am going to have to check my DVD to see if that is on mine.
I never noticed it before but it has been a long time since I watched them. -
What is the time stamp that it occurs for you ?
And what did you get the screencap with ?
And I would say it is a color bar not a flare. -
Yep, it's on my DVD also.
I don't think I ever got the Blurays or I don't remember, I will have to look and if I don't have the Blurays I guess I will have to buy them!!
LOL!! -
Do you have the wide case release? I don.t know if there was a slim case release that might have been restored.
The blurays are on my purchase list. But after the holiday bills are paid

Yeah I am not sure if I have the Blurays, I don't think so but I know I have the Star Wars, Planet of the Apes, Aliens, a bunch of Clint Eastwood, and a ton of other stuff but I think back when I was starting heavy into Bluray they did not have the Indy series released yet otherwise I would probably have them for sure.
But my memory say's I don't have them yet.
I guess that is next on my list!!
LOL!! -
Master Yoda the Force is really with you...
Today is really your day,I have near my desk Indiana 1 BR (recently burned) and I was going to see it tonight,so I just now watched it and it didn't make the strip you give us at the foto.
I have this edition Blu Ray:

*I like it when meet people who watch old classic adventures like Indiana Jones,Star wars,Back to the future,Alien,Predator,Rambo,Terminator because I am 33 and I have all of them and much more in my BR collection. We grew up with these movies.
At your services... -

I used some holiday gift cards for Bestbuy and put them toward the Indiana Jones complete adventures bluray set.
I love it
I did look at the scene I mentioned above and did not notice anything.
I did however notice that the packaging states clearly that they are DIGITALLY REMASTERED - or maybe it was DIGITALLY RESTORED.
Either way that means they did go through them and touch them up for the bluray release.
This is as close as I could get to the exact moment as on the dvd screenshot.
As you can see the color band is gone as Iron Maiden UK mentioned.
The strange thing was mpchc wouldn't play the disc without anydvdhd loaded. I had it turned off and mpchc wouldn't work. I loaded anydvdhd and boom it worked. I didn't realize that the encryption on bluray was blocking mpchc until I turned off anydvdhd.
Anyhow....
I kinda of regret one thing. They had the original trilogy available in individual cases and would have been a bit cheaper indiviudally for just the three originals. But they had the ultraviolet streaming codes with them. The complete adventures boxset doesn't have them.
And they aren't available for the disc to digital vudu upgrade purchase.
But I am glad I got the indy bonus disc that comes with the box set. Lots of great stuff on it.
The only thing I dislike about the box is that they are sleeves instead of the normal push button cases. So you kinda have to touch the bottom of the disc to slide them out. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it without touching the bottom. I just wish they were the normal push button case.
But I do like them and I've got them in dtsma instead of just the sd dolby digital the dvds had. I don't have an hdmi hd amp but I can take advantage of the dts core
Edit - darndest thing too is the time position is different. IT reads 56:20 instead of 56:04 on the dvd. Wtf???Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
maybe the different stamps is due to different frame rates?
btw, that BD screenshot you showed isn't that great, is that indicative of the general quality of the release? i recently watched a tv broadcast of that same movie on my new tv and that looked great, maybe there was some processing going on by the broadcaster or my tv, but it looked way better than that screenshot. -
I used media player h c for the screenshot. Maybe a pro program would be better.
I am satisfied with the disc though.
